FGI Chicago Unites Fashion & Philanthropy: Blue Jacket Fashion Show Brunch Highlights Top Designers

Chicago, IL – The Fashion Group International (FGI) Chicago is excited to announce its first-ever Blue Jacket Fashion Show Brunch, taking place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Guild Row in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood.

This inaugural event aims to raise awareness of prostate cancer while celebrating Chicago’s vibrant fashion community. Inspired by the renowned Blue Jacket Fashion Show held annually during New York Fashion Week, founded by Frederick Anderson in 2016, the event shines a spotlight on the importance of men’s health. Chicago attendees will enjoy a viewing of the best moments from the February 4, 2025, New York show as part of this meaningful and stylish brunch experience.

What to Expect:

●     Runway Presentation: Featuring blue jackets designed or loaned by local talent. Designers include Shernett Swaby, Production Mode, Niczka, Petra Poórová - Fashion Studio, aŠady, David Han at ZEGLIO, Karmic Couture, Jess Crane, Kristian Kouture, Jessica Woodburn, and The Blue Passion. The show will also feature vintage and new blue jackets from Styled by Demetra, a luxury e-commerce consignment shop. (Additional designers may be announced).

●     Silent Auction: Unique items and experiences, with proceeds benefiting ZERO Prostate Cancer.

●     Self-Serve Brunch & Networking: A chance to connect with leaders in Chicago’s creative industries.

Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among males, affecting 1 in 8 men over their lifetimes. The Black male community faces a 70% higher risk of developing the disease and more than double the mortality rate.

FGI Chicago member Petra Poórová, founder of Petra Poórová – Fashion Studio, will present blue jacket looks from her COCO-CHI Collection, a fusion of European elegance and American streetwear.

"I’m grateful that I can support this platform through my participation, helping to open the discussion on men’s health issues, with a focus on cancer education, early detection, prevention, and treatment options. If even one life is saved or extended, my contribution to raising awareness about prostate cancer and bringing this important issue to the local community will have been fulfilled. Cancer has taken several close family members from me, which is why I believe it’s crucial to dedicate attention to this topic."
