FGI Chicago Hosts Inaugural Blue Jacket Fashion Show Brunch to Raise Awareness for Prostate Cancer

[Chicago, IL] – The Fashion Group International (FGI) Chicago is thrilled to announce the launch of its first-ever Blue Jacket Fashion Show Brunch, scheduled for Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Guild Row in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood.

This unique event is inspired by the renowned New York Fashion Week (NYFW) Blue Jacket Fashion Show, founded by fashion designer Frederick Anderson in 2016, to create a platform to openly discuss men’s health issues with an emphasis on cancer education, early detection, prevention, and treatment options. While the NYFW event unites celebrities and media to promote prostate cancer awareness on a national scale, FGI Chicago's brunch aims to bring this important cause to the local community, while showcasing the talents of Chicago's retailers, designers and creatives.

What to Expect

Guests will enjoy:

  • Runway-Style Presentation: A showcase of blue jackets designed or loaned by talented local designers and retailers.

  • Highlight Reel: A look at memorable moments from NYFW’s Blue Jacket Fashion Show.

  • Silent Auction: Bid on unique items, experiences, and services, with all proceeds benefiting ZERO Prostate Cancer, a leading nonprofit dedicated to research, early detection, and patient care.

  • Self-Serve Brunch & Networking: Enjoy delicious food and connect with Chicago’s creative leaders.

Why This Matters

Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among males, impacting 1 in 8 over their lifetimes. The risk increases with age, and the Black male community faces even greater risks, including a 70% higher likelihood of developing the disease and more than double the mortality rate.

By participating in this event, attendees support ZERO Prostate Cancer’s vital mission. All proceeds from the silent auction will go to the nonprofit, through FGI Foundation, helping fund critical research, early detection programs, and patient care. Visit them at zerocancer.org.
