I started my apparel development business in 2009 when approached by a friend in search of someone to design her wedding gown. She presented me with pictures of existing dresses to show me feature that she really liked and asked me to design and construct her own unique dress featuring some of these details she loved. Since then, I have been developed products for people all over the USA in many segments of the apparel industry including; hats, intimates, bags, menswear, womenswear, costume design, swimwear, athleticwear, medical scrubs, formalwear, bridalwear, jackets and more.

I offer a unique service of conceptual prototyping where I turn concepts into working prototypes which can then be evaluated and transformed into functional products. This service is great for products that do not exist on the market (yet!) and need to be represented in physical from for team discussions, investor pitches, etc. This skill is derived from my background in studio arts, composition and my experience developing many different products and accessories in the industry.

In addition to my experience as a business owner and contractor, I have also worked with corporations and business including; Sears Holdings Corporation, White House Black Market / Chico’s FAS, The Pampered Chef, The Apparel Agency, Crescendo Apparel LLC and Henry-Lee & Co. / 600 West Collection. Some of my positions have included; Technical Designer, Product Manager, Director of Operations, Product Development Coordinator, Fabric Buyer, Associate Designer and Textile Designer.

I have a BFA in Fashion Design from The Illinois Institute of Art- Chicago and a MS in Recreation, Sports and Tourism from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

There are many moving parts to the process of apparel development. I believe that the most skilled professionals in the industry have experience in multiple parts of the process enabling them to understand the product through the full development lifecycle. In addition to the skills of the process, it is also important to understand the end user of the product, which in most cases is the consumer, and how to create successful business operations to reach that endpoint. I have taken great strides to develop my skills and further my knowledge in these aspects to offer extraordinary services to clients who are just getting started, already established or who are in need of consultations on current project.
